RADICALLY DIFFERENT THERAPY · OKLAHOMA
Couples counseling for Commerce, OK.
You disagree about what happened. You agree that trust has changed.
A hidden conversation, deleted messages, or an agreement understood differently can leave one partner hurt and the other arguing over what to call it. We can work on the event, its impact, and the boundaries you thought you shared, even while you disagree about the label.

WHAT BRINGS YOU HERE?
What agreement did each of you believe you had?
Sometimes an expectation was spoken clearly and broken. Sometimes each person assumed the other understood it. Sorting out that difference matters, along with being honest about actions that were hidden.
We can discuss the impact without reducing the whole conversation to a debate over whether the event qualifies as an affair. Trust involves what happened, what was represented, and how each person responds to the hurt now.
No fluff, no BS therapy for relationships that need radical help.

THE WORK IN THE ROOM
We get beyond the argument about the label.
I help you be specific about the event and its effect. What did you understand the agreement to be? What information was missing? What has your partner’s response added to the original hurt?
Emotionally Focused Therapy helps us work with the loss of connection around the injury. I pay attention when one person seeks reassurance and the other minimizes, defends, or becomes overwhelmed, so we can address what that exchange is doing.
We also discuss what an explicit agreement would need to include going forward. The work is in understanding each person’s boundaries and taking responsibility for choices, with room to be honest about what you can and cannot offer.
The hurt needs attention even while you disagree about its name.

BEFORE YOU SCHEDULE
Questions about getting started.
Where do we meet if we live in Commerce, OK?
Your appointment is at my office in Webb City, Missouri, near Joplin: 2830 Mt. Hope Rd., Webb City, MO 64870. Both partners attend in person at this location.
Can we come if we disagree about whether it was cheating?
Yes. We can work with the choices, expectations, secrecy, and impact you describe. Agreeing on one label is not a requirement for beginning an honest conversation.
Will therapy set phone rules for us?
We can discuss your concerns and the agreements you want to make. I help you understand the meaning and impact of those agreements; there is no single phone- access rule presented here as the answer for every couple.
Do we have to know whether we want to stay together?
You can arrive uncertain and discuss that openly. Both partners need to be willing to participate. Therapy does not come with a promised relationship outcome.
FOR COUPLES IN COMMERCE, OK
Start with what changed between you.
You can bring different accounts and difficult questions. We can work toward a clearer conversation about what happened, what it meant, and what responsibility looks like now.
