RADICALLY DIFFERENT THERAPY · MISSOURI

Couples counseling for Seneca, MO.

You can care deeply about your marriage and be honest about how hard it is.

Commitment can mean a great deal to you. It can also make it difficult to admit how disappointed or alone you feel. Whether faith is central to your relationship or not, there is room here for the actual experience of being together, including the parts you wish were different.

WHAT BRINGS YOU HERE?

What do your values look like in daily life?

You may agree that kindness, loyalty, or commitment matters while having very different experiences of it at home. It can hurt to share the same ideals and still feel that your partner is missing you.

We can talk about those gaps plainly. If you want your Christian faith included, we can discuss how it belongs in the work. A faith-neutral approach is also welcome. You do not need a shared religious background to come.

No fluff, no BS therapy for relationships that need radical help.

01

Bring the gap between the relationship you value and what life together currently feels like.

02

Make room for accountability and hurt when a betrayal has challenged your sense of commitment.

03

Discuss intimacy, expectations, and beliefs that affect how you relate physically.

04

Talk through the values and assumptions each of you is bringing into marriage.

THE WORK IN THE ROOM

Your beliefs can be part of a real conversation.

I use Emotionally Focused Therapy to work with what happens between you. We look at the moments when you need your partner, how you express that need, and what happens when the response hurts.

When faith is part of the conversation, I want to understand what it means to each of you. Shared language does not always mean shared expectations. We can examine those expectations rather than assuming that you agree.

The work still requires attention to behavior, responsibility, and the effect you have on each other. Saying that the relationship matters gives us a starting point for discussing how that commitment is being lived.

Your values and your hurt can both be spoken aloud.

BEFORE YOU SCHEDULE

Questions about getting started.

Where do we meet if we live in Seneca, MO?

Your appointment is at my office in Webb City, Missouri, near Joplin: 2830 Mt. Hope Rd., Webb City, MO 64870. Both partners attend in person at this location.

Do we have to want Christian counseling?

No. Faith is included when requested. You are welcome to work with me using a faith-neutral approach, regardless of whether religion is part of your life.

What if we have different beliefs?

You can bring that difference. We can discuss how it affects the relationship and what each of you wants from therapy instead of assuming a shared approach.

Can we talk about resentment even if we are committed to staying?

Yes. Wanting the relationship to continue does not make the hurt irrelevant. We can work on the resentment, the unmet needs, and the responsibilities that need attention.

FOR COUPLES IN SENECA, MO

You can care about the marriage and ask for more from it.

Bring the values you want to live by and the places where the relationship falls short. We can start an honest conversation about both.
